Default Drawbacks

For me there are three primary drawbacks to owning an S2000. The first drawback of ownership is the attention this car gets when I drive it. Prior to this car, I have never had people beeping at me on the expressway, expressing signs of approval, slowing down next to me, or asking me if I want to race. Don't get me wrong, some attention is fine but there exists a dark side that makes me not want to leave the car unattended. Hence, I only drive it for enjoyment. It has become a "second" car that is garaged and kept out of sight. The second drawback is the utility of this vehicle. The utility of a two seater convertable with limited truck space is obvious and expected. Unfortunatley and fortunatly for me I acquired land that exists at the end of a two mile dirt road that has a driveway that even a 4X4 vehicle has trouble traversing. This is no place for an S. The third drawback is that the limits of the car far exceed the legal limits of the roads I drive. My truck challenges me at speeds much closer to the posted speeds then my S ever will. I drive the S with much more attention to law enforcement than I would when I drive my truck. I don't like tickets and I don't have an cousin Vinny. I still love the S2000 but I wish I lived next to a track.

Do you have a CR? If so you should consider trading me for a regular AP2 that will get far less attention and will be equally as fun to drive

I wouldn't count #2 as a drawback. Like you said it's expected it isn't a car for running errands, it's a 2 seat convertible for a reason. lol

Seems like a general s2k post rather than CR, but yeah. Anyone that owns this car accepts the drawbacks (and learns to use them to their advantage), or sells it quickly.

To what? The crackle fire for posts flaming this thread? I was simply sharing my experience with ownership of a car I love. I am not candy coating it. If people feel strongly about my post I am fine with it.
