I hate that my business moved out of a building with a deck. It was strange though, there were the people who tried to park at the bottom way away from everyone (but someone usually ends up beside you eventually), then there's one section with nothing but BMW/Lexus/Porche etc. Personally, I used to park next to a new M5 every day. We all felt safe and had no problems.

I wonder if we can petition for "enthusiast" spots to be designated at the back of the lot. They could be twice normal width, surrounded on 3 sides with guard-rails...

I'm with you on this one.

My colleague related to us a horror story yesterday. Apparently a little old lady was having trouble parking her car in a very big parking spot which someone had left a shopping trolley in. After several failed attempts she just rammed her car in and hit the trolley so hard it bounced off her car and carreen into someone elses.

I guess the idea of getting out and moving the trolley never occured to her.

My GF laughs at me when I park in a public spot. I'll only park if it's a wide spot, and I won't park next to a car that has door dings or any other sign of abuse. I can now give you a complete profile of any driver/family based entirely on the state of their motor vehicle.

Lucky for me my Stook is weekends only!!! She does not see your normal shopping center, super market or any of those other public places designed for Caravans! My baby was designed to be driven, I don't mean driven but raced! I just recently found out first hand that it is a sin to take this car anywhere other than the track!! That's why the only time my car is parked in the pits!! Okay, seriously though, I park only at the edge of a lot where there is no parking on one side of the car. This way worse comes to worse only one person can park near you. I do only take her out on weekends so I can be very picky about where I go. I've been known to come home to drop off my Stook just to pick up my truck to go shopping. I love options

Have you ever seen one of those VW Passat ads on TV where the guy parks his Passat real far, far away from all the cars. That's me...
Check it out if you haven't seen it:

Im exactly the same, I park as far away from the entrance to shops with a couple of free spaces either side.
What really bugs me is that people see the stook on its own and park next to it just to check it out. So I not only risk getting dings in the door but they get greasy finger marks on the windows
One ding in a black car is really noticeable so I am being very very careful at the moment.

A ding in almost any color, except maybe for white, is always noticeable. My red Prelude has a few dings in it, and I can see them from pretty far away. Luckily, my S2K doesn't have any dings in it. Let's hope it stays that way.

nvmys2k,

My other car is a Passat GLX. I've always thought that they made the commercial after observing me

yeah always look for corner spots.. and park right up on the curb.. i turn the wheel all the way.. so that the wheel touchs the curb.. so that whoever parks next to me would have to be trying to hurt my car.
