Stuff it all... engine, suspension, seats and all into an S600 body.

Go to Japan, purchase a Spoon Sports-prepped race car (RHD, full roll-cage, gutted interior, <2100-lb car, fire extinguisher, fuel cell, Mooncraft HT, some crazy paint scheme), ship it back home, and race it on the track only. I'll probably need a Honda Ridgeline with a trailer, 2 sets of race wheels, and stock up on some Hoosier race tires...

or go to Saitama, Japan to the Mugen factory, purchase the original Mugen SS2000 concept (open-seater, 1-seat) and use that for the track and a giant paperweight...

or pay Mugen an insane amount of money to stuff a Mugen race engine (v-6 or i-6) into the S2000 and make it work (why not, they did it for their Mugen Legend Max (aka Acura RL).

i would ask the people in japan to make me a custom S2000, all light weight chassis, titanium and alloys everywhere, light weight CF body. 2 custom bucket seats with a light weight rollbar. custom light weight wheels, bigger brakes. i would also have full engine tune, headers, exhaust. everything out of Titanium, Cia, with turbo or supercharger. tons of spare goodies, spare set of wheels if i fancied a change, tyres made specifically for my set up, 3 japanese top honda mechanics to look after my car.

my list could go on and on but i thought i would stop there as im sure you get my point!

i have a feeling this may get quoted as a goodie!

Yeah, I'd have to limit myself to the free "ball edge accelerator bend" mod.

For price-no-object, though, I'd think about asking for one of the 3L NA V8s Honda is developing and seeing if that would fit in the engine bay.

Well, if money is no object, I wouldn't bother with building up an S2000. I'd just go out and buy the car I really wanted.

But I can understand where the original poster was coming from: if money is not an option, what (and how) would you "acquire" the parts to build up the S2000.

I've gotta be vague, just because "if money was not an issue"...I would not be doing something soo unique! (think JGTC M-Tec/Mugen NSX)

All-out racecar, original 2 liter engine, normally aspirated 12K Redline (ideally 19K like an F1 car...but that is really a dream!)

Redo the Frame in Titanium/Aluminum/Carbon Fiber?
J's Widebody Kit - all Carbon Fiber
functional front brake ducts with tubing
Completely stripped, painted, and prepped interior for racing
Carbon Fiber Transmission
Ground Effects/Underbody Aero Kit
Mugen CF Hardtop or Mooncraft CT hardtop.
Accu-sump Oiling System
Built-in car jacks/air jack stands
Race Seats/Roll cage/6 point harness
Wired for track communications
in-car adjustable suspension/sway bars
in-car adjustable brake bias
Custom gages including air-fuel, oil temp, oil pressure, etc.
Replace the windows with Plexiglass or similar material
Momo Wheel (setup like an F1 car with display and shift lights on the wheel)
Brembo Brakes and Ceramic of CF Rotors
BBS Custom Rims on race spindles
Dedicated radiators/coolers for engine coolant, oil, and transmission fluids.
....
And a really big garage with a small house attached to store the car and work on it!

...oh to dream....hmmm....
