Drift Movie With S2000
Me and my s2k, and my friend with his Z32, are planning to produce a drift movie. We have a tight curvy mountain pass in the forest, so the scenes are quite nice. So far, we have some material, but we discovered that making a movie is hard. We had 3 cameras, and about 6 assistans (more like spectators :-) 3 were camera guys) and it was really tough to communicate... So we spend the whole day shooting, and sometimes I felt we were doing nothing... Anyway, we have some material by now, enough to make a trailer... Here are some sample clips, please tell me what you think.::

Storyboards always help. You could acomplish alot in one day if it is all planed out ahead of time. Like, location, where camera men need to be for the shot, wanted camera angles etc. There is a reason why they do this in movies
Paper first, media secound.

Looks like fun. For some reason I couldn't see the 3rd movie, just audio (I may be missing a codec).
Storyboards are helpful. Once you sit down and have thought out the storyboard, then you know everyshot you need.

I had the storyboard for the first time. Not exactly the storyboard, but a sketch of all interesting camera view for few corners. It did come handy. But the problem I was facing was the lack of organization between participants... afteralll we are amateurs not professionals, so they we're making fun all the time... so we could have some more clips then we do... but it's easy for me to say, driving s2000 ;-)
Yeah, Dori's drifting is about only one I've seen... but it's on closed track with professional driver + professional team. And that's a big difference. Our is movie is being recorded on the track that barely alows to cars to go by.... The scenes are just lovely in my opinion... And we are amateurs, enthusiasts - with limited resources, from budget to experience ;-) And there aren't many amateur drift movies, at least not as whole road section or as a story - there some clips ofcourse or there are some mixes - where amateurs only done the editing part, not the driving (track events from professional drivers)...
But I think it will come good, if we do the proper video editing... beta trailers look awesome... and when we put together about 1km of road with totaly 9 sharp turns of (90/180') combinations, with all the possible camera angles, it should look good.
btw: The 3rd movie is in xvid, so installing this ffdshow filter pack with xvid enabled should do it. It is kinda my favourite angle...

Do you have problems with all of the videos? For the first two, you need Divx5.0.3 for video and Mpeg3 for audio. For the third, you need xvid and Mpeg3 for audio.
I suggest you:
- install Divx 5.0.3 or greater Bundle (avoid Pro version, since it comes with ad-ware)
- install Nimo Codec Pack 5. Build 8 or greater, with ONLY Mpeg Layer 3 Audio codec selected (you don't want to make mess out of your codecs)
- install latest ffdshow with only XviD selected
Now it should work in all media-player based players... If want, you can try ZoomPlayer - not bad piece of software imho.
Happy viewing :-)

that last one was funny, hahaha...i think the 2nd vid was the best. the first one was cool too. too bad someone couldn't keep the laughing in on the third video. you can still use it though.
