drifting a s2k
Same as drifting anycar with a lack of low end....go into a corner way too hot, slam on the brakes, get off them half way through to upset the car which brings the tail out and then get back on the bas to keep the momentum up. Or do some circles faster and faster until the ass end kicks out on it's own and try to hold it? I dunno...kinda hard to do either safely in a parking lot I think.
This car is simple to slide around because of how controllable it is and the great feedback it provides. I found easy oversteer on corner exit with both sp1's and sp2's though the 2000 wass significantly easier to slide out.
I would either do a flick into the turn to upset the chassis and then power through or come into a corner hot and on the throttle, lift, maybe tap the break and then get back on the throttle to power out.

Why not? An S2000 is a great car, but it isn't exactly THAT special. I could see you getting on someone for drifting a Carrera GT maybe, but hell...this is just another production car.
It also happens to be especially suited for it because of the handling characteristics.
Now, I don't especially LIKE the drift scene, but I see no reason to think that an S2000 is an inappropriate drift car.

Just keep the powerband up and overpower a corner. The rear end will slide around. It is REALLY hard to control at those RPM's though. That is one reason I have found this car more difficult that others to kick the tail out around corners. If you have some thing like a 350Z with gobs of low end torque, drifting would be cake.
The thing is that with this car you need so many RPMs to break the tires loose when not mid turn.....not relying on heavy lateral G's to keep the tires moving. This is the reason I think it would be really difficult to KEEP it in drift.
The key to maintaining a drift (not mid corner, but in transition....) is torque, something our cars kinda lack. If you want a GOOD drifter, you will need performance mods to up the torque and to broaden the curve.
