Possible solutions to the vtec issue: You could change the handling balance of the car through tire pressure stagger or with sway bar changes. Or you could install a VAFC and adjust the vtec crossover (they still do that, don't they?)

As to steering lock limits, I bet someone makes modified suspension bits that allow more lock. Unless it is at the limits of the rack. I know my son's old 240 had some bits that let him do a U-turn on an average two lane highway without using any sholder.

Actually, the "standard practice" on pro drift S2000's is to install the RX-7 power steering rack and pump. That also gets rid of the EPS, which gets confused when the tires are spinning (a characteristic that makes it impossible to feel what the front tires are doing). Basically, if you get serious about drifting, the EPS has to go.

VTEC really isn't an issue, because you only see it in first gear, and in first you can spin the tires (which is the object here ) and get into VTEC instantly. It's just a problem for people who let it catch them off guard, and is probably more of a problem for aggressive street drivers than guys who are drifting their cars.

If you want to make a U-turn on a 2 lane road and not use the shoulder, you can always light the tires and pivot the car around the inside front tire.
