Default Drilled & Slotted Rotors

I'm thinking about new brake rotors and pads, but I don't want a whole kit. I'm looking to spend around $300 before shipping. What is a good brand to look for? I see a lot from Wholesale Direct on Ebay. Anyone have opinions?

first, drilled and slotted are for looks not performance...
got mine from spugen.
cad plated drilled and slotted.
and kept the stock pads. probably the best you can get with no dust. also to minimize the dust, i installed the rotors backwards. i now really get almost no brake dust, which i appreciate on my wheels:

(darn... want to post a pic but cant get them to work on this machine!)

Slotted are for performance. Drilled they say, are supposed to cool faster, but IMO I would say that the drilled are for looks only.

^^ wanabe - I have always loved your wheels... I just checked spugen's site and they are asking $475 for a set of 4 drilled/slotted. If I might ask, is this what you paid? Have they ever offered a group buy?

Thanks!

Doesn't installing directional rotors backwards hurt the cooling ability of the vanes?

yes, backwards installation is not for max cooling... it is for looks (no dust)
normal install allows the pads to bite a whole lot more- resulting in faster braking and more dust. i do a lot of engine braking and use the brakes for emergencies and for a small amount of slowing-
(btw, thanks pittpanther!)
and yes, i paid whatever spugen was charging- did not get a group buy.

the pic i was trying to post:
