Exclamation Drilling into the fake side vents

I know some people take these out but I really havent foudn this on search to much. For the side vents there are 2 main options I have seen.

Most just cut out the whole vent, others use a type of tube or nozzle insert which makes it look like a rocket launcher

I'm going the middle route. Buy some black side grills from grill tech, drill about 6 medium sized holes toward the center of the fake insert. Then throw the grill on.

The holes could be of some use to brake cooling and also a lil more air flow to CAI but nothing major. I just dont liek the idea of having the duct be non functional Are the fake insert easy to drill through?

You won't have a problem drilling/cutting/Dremeling through it. Wear a mask and glasses though, getting that stuff in your lungs/eyes is painful!

Dremal tool is your friend. I left a little piece of the plastic there to give me something to screw into to keep the grill in place.

Medium thick plastic, easy to dremel, must be a little hard to cut with a blade.
Cut mine off;just left 2 small tabs,in opposite corners,to screw the grills on.
Check Coastal Metal grills;Full S.S,,and you can get them PCed black or silver.
