Default Driver Convex Mirror

Any opinions on whether a convex driver side rear view mirror is a good idea?

If you have one, where did you purchase it? And, would you recommend the store?

Cheers,
bj

I have one and I love it....no blind spots with the top up. It takes a while to get used to but it's very nice!

This is a false statement. Maybe it's true for you, and even if so, a convex mirror WILL greatly enhance your view, especially when adjusted properly .

I am very tall and the OEM mirror cannot be adjusted for me to be able to see my blind spot. When the OEM mirror was adjusted as far out as possible, I could still see my car with no view towards the side-rear. Muz's driver's side convex mirror absolutely improved my rearward and sideways visibility on the driver's side. IMO, it's the best safety modification that I have made to my car.

The only downside is that you MUST take into account that the objects that you see in the mirror are closer than they appear.

just because you can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done. follow these instructions an_other.

i have no blind spot. i can look at my driver's side mirror and see the car in the left lane and when he moves forward enough out of the side mirror view i can see him in my driver's side window

by all means if you do the technique and still have a blindspot you should get a convex mirror but i bet this technique works for most people.
