Default Driver window

A couple weeks ago the "auto-down" feature of the driver's side window quit working. Window still operates fine if you don't click the switch down into Auto mode. The annoying part is that the window no longer goes all the way down when I put the top down - only drops about 1/2 inch.

Anybody had similar problem? Is there a fuse to control "Auto" function? Other easy fix?

Its 2001 with about 44k miles

Thanks.

Your window regulator assembly died. See here.

Thanks.

How long before I should expect the window to quit working completely??

I've had to replace one of those things in an Acura CL - wasn't cheap.

It should never die completely, mine does the exact same thing. From what I gather, what you are experiencing is the extent of the problem.

Yeah. I can live with it. If I'm at a dealer for service I may pursue "goodwill consideration" and have it fixed, but I doubt I'll pay to replace it if the window continues to work.

Thanks again.

There is a procedure for resetting the control...I ran across it a couple of weeks ago. Search and you should be able to track down the answer...I'll look to.

Search isn't working for me right now...I'll check back later.

that often won't work.

the problem is that part of the window regulator is dirty and corroded. Honda updated the part for later models.

Add me to the failed regulator list. It began shortly after the end of the 36 month warranty. At first the behavior was intermittent; now it seems to be consistent. My understanding is that it costs more than $200 to repair the problem. I don't particularly mind living with it. Since all prior work on the car has consisted of routine maintenance, spark plug recall and tire replacement, I don't want to spoil a perfect record by fixing a nit problem.

I also had the window regulator replaced under warranty at 19k miles.

Windows would only roll down a few inches when taking the top down, which I could live with, but then the windows stopped working all together.
