Driving 2000+ Miles with the S2000
My S2000 is going from California to Alabama soon not sure when. It's a little over 30k from the last time I rode her. Do you guys have any suggestions on what kind of maintainance I should do to the S2000 before I drive her 2000 miles to Alabama. Full synthetic oil change is a must for me since shes due anyways but what else? I'm going to tape her down with painter's tape too.
Thanks
Thanks
damn very long drive.. i did 12hrs from ohio to florida last year lol and that is only 1k miles... boy oh boy let me tell u... great car but not great for trying to take a nap in haha.. unless ur like 4ft tall lol
usually i check all 4 tires, tire pressure, make sure all 4 wheels are tight, i took my friend s2k down to florida and one of his wheel almost flew off... over tighten from honda, but lucky me i was n florida when 2 studs broke off :/
so after the studs broke off, i am 100 % checking everything when im doing over 200 miles for a road trip.. be safe and have fun : )

I did a drive to Florida and back from NY in my S last month. Just did an oil change, check tires and fluids and your good to go. I actually found it comfortable for the 17-18 hour drive. I was with a friend so we took turns driving. Sleeping was near impossible unfortunately due to the seats not reclining enough.
My total miles from the trip were like 3500 or so.

Well, I have a NoVA, San Antonio round trip coming up next week.. about 3200 miles total. What I did was change all 4 tires, oil, diff, tranny and clutch fluid. I also did a very basic check on the driveline looking for excessive play anywhere... I even checked the wiring harness to make sure there were no loose wires anywhere or any grounds about to break.
As for sleeping in the S, I once made a quick trip to NJ, and on the way back I stopped at the rest area... I slept 6 hours very very soundly with no back pain or anything.. and I am 5'11
Everyone is different, hehe

I had both out today and found it pretty comfortable. If I go on a solo roadtrip and don't have a need for the seat, I'm going to take it out and put some blankets there.

i will let you know how it goes. i am glad to have a copilot, but without i would definitely pull the passenger seat.
