Default Driving S2000 in the Rain

Hi all. I am looking at a 2004-2005 S2000. My question is, I had an 01 S2k before, and driving in the rain was really scary, even with non-OEM tires. Are the newer models "better", more secure in the rain? I know you should not VTEC in the rain but I remember my tail moving a lot. Was the suspension tweaked a little bit? I searched, and found some helpful information. But it seems most comments are from 00-03 owners. Thanks in advance.

ive got an 05...i really dont see any difference between previous model and 05...i would say just dont mess around in the rain...of course the rear end will move if u hit it hard but a regular drivin will not do anything at all...ive driven a lot on the rain and never had any issue at all...btw, with all the time your driving the car, why even think of hitting vtec when its raining...

Yes.

The S2000 AP2 version [starting in 2004] has a modified rear suspension from your previous AP1. The objective was to settle the back end down.

Good tyres and brain function are as important as model years!

wow!!! i learned something new everyday...i guess i nid to do more research bout my car...whenever i talk to people and tell them that my 05 is the same as previous model, they all look at me like "what"? i bought the car and didnt even bother doing some research i thought that bumper itself and the motor is different...i guess theres more in to it..btw, my car is pretty good in the rain considering the ride is a bit stiffer than stock because of my bilstein pss...thanks for the learning experience today

The s2000 from 2004 and then has some improvments in the suspension and the stabilaizer and with the wider tyres(245/40/17) its easier(not better) to drive it than the previous model....but both are extremnly fun in the rain..about the thesis that you dont have to v-tec in the rain i have to say that, the plesure of this car is that but u have to take care of it..respect the car and you will discover day by day how fun is when u sliding or drift in the rain or just drive in it...you have to remember that squizing the throtle and not use it like on/off switch is crusial..dont punish and dont disselarate quicly(i do not find the correct word!) because u jumb in the brakes to hard and its dangerous to rotate tha car...have fun..

I don't know what all this hub bub is about with the S2K in the rain. I drive my 00 with original S02s in the rain all the time. I have not once had the tires slip.. when I didn't want them too of course Just control your right foot, whats so hard about that.

I have an 06 with VSA on it. I've driven in torrential rain (20 ft visibility) twice in it the last month, no problems, just use your common sense

BTW the VSA didn't come in either time.

I'd have to agree with several of the above posts, I've never had a problem in the rain. People need to know the limitations of their abilities which is usually far below that of the car.
