Anything can be done. Having a lot of winter driving experience I would personally advise against it.

1. Low clearance is going to be a problem
2. Accident rates are higher in the snow, if you roll or are rolled you're going to get hurt
3. RWD cars need more care when driving in the winter
4. Freeway driving is a completely different ball game then 20mph in the snow. You want a solid car that can jump lanes. The S can't jump lanes in thick snow. The clearance isn't there and you're likely to loose control.

Yes, you can do this. No the car wont fall apart. Should you do it? That's your call. I wouldn't and didn't when I lived in snow country.

Personally I think you would have to be insane to own one as your ONLY means of transportation in a location that has snow for what might months at a time.

I have no doubt with the right tires it can be made to work but why? No thanks. I don't even like driving in FL in hard rain if I have a choice. Visibility top up sucks and even if you're NA you can get the rear end to step out easily.

If you were a current owner and were moving, that's one thing. As a new owner, I think you'll be hating yourself going into winter.

I live on a snowey mountain in Oregon a confident driver should be fine as long as the snow isnt too deep to move the car of course, I can only imagine it would however be easier in an AP2

Goodluck with your purchase!!

I live right outside philly I know it doesnt snow here a lot but people drive like retards when it does, my S is staying parked in the garage when it snows and probably for a week after till all the road salt is washed away. I'll probably DD it 80% of the year and the rest I just got a cheap beater pickup truck. Plus I want to keep my S for many year and road salt rusts and decays everything it touches.

I'm planning on keeping mine for a while too, I think that as long as you spray it down or take it to a no touch wash once a week it should be fine.

I don't NEED this car to get me places. I'm in college and I live right near campus, there are buses I take to class anyways and I drive my girlfriends Jeep more than she does. We live together, if I need to use it I can.
