Default driving without hood

i will be picking up an amuse style hood from somebody, and wanted to know if it would be safe to remove my stock hood before goign there, and then just install the new hood there, rather than finding a way to transport either the new hood, or my old one home. aside from many weird looks, would there be any negative consequences from doing this. assuming a nice day, no rain, and its about a 2 hour drive, mostly highway.

thanks in advance

Yeah that's exactly what I did to get my hood. Figured why go through all the trouble to find transportation when you could just take off the stock hood and drive hoodless for awhile. But my destination was about 15mins from where I took off the hood I was really paranoid about cops giving me a fix ticket because of the polished items in my engine bay. But i'll tell you this you'll get a lot of head turning. People starred and pointed throughout my drive its kinda cool. Good luck with your decision I say go for it and don't drive in the fast lane.

2 hours, that's far. How much is shipping? Is the owner unable to ship? Shipping costs might offset the gas/time involved.

However if you have no other choice I recommend you asking the owner to meet you closer or AT LEAST meet your near a freeway offramp so you can minimize city driving as much as possible.
