I was wondering how u wire the top to go down when ur driving at lower speeds?... i saw it on a s2000 at the mall. and i was wondering how u do that!.. any help?????

 

Don't do it. It's unsafe and if you're going 'fast enough' you can damage the top. Anyway, it's your car--your choice but do not cause a car accident because you cannot see what is behind you.

define "dope" looked it up in a dictionary and the only definition that makes sense is this... 2. Informal: a stupid person: Ex. Though he wasnt an intellectual giant, he was no dope, either.

so if you are slowing down to a stop while putting your top down, you look like a stupid person... ok good to know, you wont see me rolling to a stop putting the top down, phiew i hate looking stupid!

 

Exactly, The S was rated at 5 seconds from start to finish. Is your life so important that you need to save those 5 seconds?

 

I don't think he mentioned dropping the top while he was driving backwards.

There are several variations on how to do this, but the simplest and best (imo) is to simply cut the speed sensor wire where it comes out of the top control box, under the passenger dash. You will still have to pull the e-brake up one notch to drop the top, but you can then put the top down while moving.

The car will beep at you with the e-brake warning this way, so a) you will be aware when you are playing with the top/e-brake ever, and b) you can't simply push the top button and have something tragic happen.

ONLY drop/raise the top at speeds of 10mph or less, or you will damage your motors, top frame, top, etc. This mod is very easy and useful once you've done it, plus its free!
