I don't think he mentioned dropping the top while he was driving backwards.
I do not believe that I mentioned it either. When you're moving forward while driving a car, you still need to see what is going on behind you or may NEED to make a lane change because of an obstacle ahead. Why risk it by becoming an inattentive driver?

i think it looks dope when u roll to a stop while putting ur top down
it is unsafe to put ur top down while moving... and u can damage ur top if ur moving too fast.....
BUT if u use common sense....... i think u should have no prob plus it does look nice when people put their top down rolling to a stop...

I highly recommend this mod. I rarely use it, but when you get caught out in the rain or you're trying to drop top at a traffic light and it turns green it's GREAT to have. No ill effects at all as long as you're not stupid about dropping/raising it.

i remember one time on the way home from work it was a nice clowdy day so i decided to put my top down, i got on the freeway and all the sudden it just starts puring down HARD like no other. i try to get in the shoulder but realize it's slowly narrowing but i stop anyways and there's very little room for me to stay in there so i try to put my top up as fast as possible with cars wizzing by inches away from me. being that i was in a rush, i put it up and tried to put the latches on while driving but at around 50mph the top just flew back half way and scared the shit out of me. i thought i had damaged something but i pulled over again and put it back up and clipped the locks and everything has been fine ever since, phew.

There have been a number of times I wished I could put the top up while moving, usually involving a traffic light. By the time traffic actually stops for a light around here (at rush hour), it's usually gone green again, and you've never come to a complete halt, just a 5mph crawl. If you stop to put the top up, not only will a bunch of cars pull in in front of you, you'll have a bunch of pissed off people behind you.
If all I have to do is cut a wire, it's about time I did it.

Getting the panel off is by far the most difficult part. Try to reach behind it and push on the clips from the backside, that helps a lot. After that just make sure you cut the right wire.
