Default Dry Window Seals.

Hey fellas,

So my window seals are getting dry and starting to crack a little bit. I do not know why since the car only has 20k miles on it but the only reason I can think of is its been a florida car all its life (pretty much). What should I use on my window seals to help rejuvenate them?

Thanks guys.

have you try taking it to the dealer and see if they will replace it under warranty?
these should have longer life than that. I have a MY 02 and not have one issue with the seals. fl resident also.

303 will also work, but ShinEtsu is the product of choice.

Definitely the best thing for it. A tube of it came with my car and I apply it 2X per year and no issues. My car is garage kept though...sun/heat is what is damaging yours.

If you can't find ShinEtsu, this works well on rubber window seals:

You want something that will penetrate and help rehydrate the rubber, so I would go with Shin Etsu - aka lithium grease - over any protectant or spray at this point.

Buy the Shin Etsu and twice a year recondition all the rubber along the top and window frame.

Shin Etsu is NOT lithium grease. It is silicone grease. That is why the silicone spray works in a similar way, it penetrates, lubricates and seals the rubber.
