Default Is this a dumb idea?

Has anyone ever run 17x9s in the front? I only ask because i want to run a very agressive setup.
Is there lots of rubbing?
Will this affect the handling in any negative way, to have 17x9s all around?

its not the size of the actual wheel that counts.. it also depends on the offset and the size of the tires. you should ask Riley about it.

you can PM him at rijowysock

the ratio between front and rear contact patch is that you need to be concerned with. You should always run a staggered tire setup.

a lot of track drivers run no stagger and a lot of people around where i live dont run any stagger on purpose on the street and on the track. The car will perform differently but most say for the better. Go figure. Most run 17x9 volks with 245/40/17 all around

well I shouldn't have said always, since there are people running non staggered setups. I guess what I should have said was to maintain the stock characteristics, the ratio should be maintained. If you were to switch to a non staggered setup while not changing anything else, the car will typically want to oversteer more, which isn't necessarily what the average street driver is looking for.

what I was referring to was the tires themselves i.e. 235/255, 205/225 or what have you. I don't see offset giving noticeable changes in handling, especially on a street car .
