Default Dumb question of the day...

My S2000 came with locking lug nuts installed, but they aren't the traditional type. They are Honda OEM, and look like regular lug nuts, but appear to have a cap over them, hiding the place where the key is inserted. They are also slightly longer than the other lugs. How do these work? How is this "cap" removed? Anyone else have them?

They are probably made by McGard and you should have been given a "key"

and if there's a cap OVER them, use small pliers or long fingernails (get that blonde wife to do it) to get them off

Yeah, they are definately OEM Honda and appear to have a cap over them, but I haven't tried to remove it with anything because I wasn't sure if there was a trick to getting them off....

Normally you have a special tool to remove those "plastic" caps tht fit around the lugnut. try to use some pliers or a flathead screwdriver..

I have oem locking lug nuts. Mine have a sort of star shaped grove in them that the lug nut key fits into.
