Default Dumb question/ Ti exhausts...

Hey guys,
In titanium exhaust systems are the full exhausts made from ti? ie; tubing, cat, and mufflers?

Most all start from the Cat and go back from there, thus "Cat-Back".

It will depend on the model or maker of the exhaust if it's full or partial Ti. Some full Ti, some are steel piping w/ Ti mufflers, and some just use Ti tips.

If you specify the one you are looking at we can then tell you if it's full or partial Ti.

Ninegrand,

Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about putting a Ti exhaust on my car because I like the idea of the weight savings - often around 50lbs. The only drawback from what I've read is that a number of people have had lower dyno numbers after the swap. So I've been kicking around the idea of rebuilding my stock exhaust with Ti tubing. I just don't know if the tubing is where the real weight savings comes from.

Well,

If you want to go with Ti, there are many choices to go with. But make sure you get a "Cat-back" rather than a muffler alone.

With F20C motor we have, the power gain/or loss depends on the piping rather than the muffler. Once again Below are some choices you can go with without losing power:
(From Least expensive to most)

1. Spugen Ti Single/Dual (Ti Muffler with Mendrel bent piping)
2. VeilSide (Ti muffler single)
3. Mugen (Ti muffler single)
4. Top Secret (Full Ti Single)
5. Amuse (Full Ti Single/Dual)

Those are some choises off top of my head.

The Veilside is a full ti also, not just muffler. The whole system weighs under 10 lbs.
