Default dummy dual exhaust?

OK, so the AP2's look like crap with a single exhaust, but singles make the most power.

Sooo, why doesn't someone make a single with a dummy pipe to a second muffler to achieve the proper look? And a great idea would be to flange to mufflers equally so if in the event that the primary muffler fails internally, just swap primary and dummy mufflers for a properly working system.

does that sound feasible? i already have a T1R Sparrow on my 05 but i want to put it on my 02 and put a single on my 05. i just don't want it to look dumb with only one outlet.

I agree it doesnt look good with a single (due to the cutout)....but a dummy is ghey, because when one pipe has steam coming out of it, and the other one doesnt, it looks stupid.

When one is dirty with carbon buildup and the other is relatively shiny it just shouts "fake!"

the thing is; though, i can't put on a super single and buy the exhaust cap to make it look right. which means i look stupid with a single or look stupid because one muffler has buildup and the other doesn't! it's lose/lose for the AP2's.

If the look of a single bothers you that much that you would put a dummy exhaust on your car then maybe you really don't need that extra 4hp that you get from the single. I'm not trying to be a wise ass, I just want to put it in perspective for you.

I know at least one person on here retro swapped bumpers back to an AP1, just so they could have a clean looking single outlet and the other side capped (like what Rick sells).

No fakey fakey, please.

Actually having a dummy pipe is nothing new.....

Just be sure to paint the inside of the cans black.

Dinan came out with their own exhaust a while back and actually one set of tips are fake. They determinted a dual muffler loses power on the e46 m3 but no m3 owner would be caught with a single set of tips so they made one side fake. The muffler was painted black so no oxidation can be seen....

Just food for though,
rick
