Default Dyno pull

I don't have the dyno plots scanned to show you guys what it ran. But it was pretty sad. Back in May of 2008, I ran the car with a buddy club single exhaust, TP, and AEM V2. It did 197hp.

A little over 2 years on this day exactly, it did 190hp with the Greddy 70mm single exhaust, 70mm tp, and ebay snorkel. I think what the problem was but not exactly sure was that, I pulled in 3rd gear back in 08 and this day I pulled in 4th gear. My buddy told me that the ratio from the engine to the drivetrain was a bit higher in 3rd gear and for this car to be as close as possilbe to 1:1 ratio it had to be ran in 4th gear. Btw, this was after the fact I did 3 pulls. Wish I would've found out sooner before I did those pulls that way I can see if I gained anything from switching mods.

Anywho, given the info above. Does it really make that much of a difference as far as what gear to run in? FWIW, I ran the same dyno and it was about 8-10 degrees colder back in 08. Maybe that has something to do with it but I don't believe that much colder would've costed me 7hp especially with proven mods like the 70mm greddy single. There's a link actually from some guy in AZ that switched his invida exhaust to the 70mm greddy single and made 20whp more with the greddy. Too lazy to find it lol but it's in here somewhere.

Some one please chime in on this. Thanks

Could be temp or could be the tune. What EMS are you using?

could be differences in temp, barometric pressure, humidity, etc.

It's a dynojet and I'm running stock ECU '01. The ecu was reset before and after installation of all the parts listed. After reset, I let the engine idle for 30mins in between mods.

I spoke to my tuner and he said it's the difference in gears that made the loss of power. And to his own opinion, I actually gained hp. Kind of hard to explain what exactly he said but I understood it pretty well.

I appreciate the input guys.

I agree with your tuner, using a different gear on a dynojet will impact the readings.

also gotta realize your engine is now 2 years older. Power is lost through time and miles. Your car isnt gonna make the exact same amount of power forever

4th gear will give you the least amount of drive train loss, if I am not mistaken.
