Default E85 mileage

Curious as to those on e85, what you get to the tank roughly. Just looking to get somewhat of idea for when I switch. Thanks

Don't use it. Nothing more than 10% ethanol. Seals and rubber are not designed for that much.

I don't do gallons and miles but I can tell you that I get roughly 35-40% less from one tank, the E85 I've been using is more like E90 though.
There are several users on here that has been using E85 with stock fuel systems (except maybe injectors) for years without any problems so don't take the warning from cosmomiller to serious

u can run on e85 fine. But it's 35-50% worse on fuel economy. For daily use I suggest a flex fuel conversion. Run 91 or whatever premium u have on normal days and then when u wana race those v8s pump some e85.

Its worse mileage but its also much cheaper right now at around $2/gal. I avg around 200miles per tank n/a on 91pump, i also wonder how much owners are getting on e85.

and cosmomillers post bothers me. Do you have personal experience with seals going bad on e85? Because i know a lot ppl on e85 for well over a year and no issues regarding seals and stuff; b series and s2ki members. If so, which ones? so we know what maintenance things to look out for.

Yea, i think I'm gonna go that route. I'd been contemplating on whether to keep my v1 or just get a v2 down the road, for the sake of being able to use flex fuel. It's gonna be on boost within a year and it'd be easier to not HAVE to find an e85 stations.

E10 causes enough problems on my lawn equipment - rubber parts degrade etc. I only buy non-ethanol fuel for our cars, bikes, and lawn equipment. It costs more, but gives better mileage than E10 and no risks of hurting the system.

On the S2000? S2000's engine is not designed to run on E85.

I ran E85 in my 2014 Focus for about 1000 miles. Cheaper than regular 87 gas? Sure. MPG was also lower. In my area the lower cost did not offset the lower MPG. For me in the DC area in that Focus for my commute, it's cheaper on 87 per mile driven.

I agree with Frosty. Nearly all auto manufacturers caution against using anything more than 10% ethanol unless the car was specifically designed for it (Flex fuel, etc.). Sure, why not listen to some guys on the internet? Who would ever want to believe the engineering saps who built the car-what do they know? You might get by on it, but in the best case you saved a little money running the junk. Worst case is you're going to be doing some significant repairs. I don't see it as worth the risk.
