The Eagle has Landed!
#1701 arrived at the dealer today, just as they said it would. I will take delivery Thuesday, as the PDI needs to be done, and it will rain tomorrow.
First impressions? I like the headlights, front face, and the whole rear setup. The ovals are much bigger than they look in pictures, and I like the way the rear valence sits lower. It is definitely a tougher look.
The Red and Black Interior looks very nice - it is not a scarlet red, neither is it "rusty". I think a very ghood shade, and the carpeting is brighter.
So "Khan" should be mine, God willing and the creek don't rise, Thursday.
BTW, I told them I never pay the processing fee, and wanted the $189 off the price we negotiated - youw ould have thought I was asking for the SM's first born - my salesguy was cool, but came back and said "Warren is willing to sit on the car", and I said without a moment's hesitation, "Let him, but I find it curious that any business man would scotch a deal over something so trivial". Aftyer 5 minutes of letting me "cook", I started to move towards the Exit, and my salesman excitedly ran up to me and said "it had to go to the GM, but we got it done". Any SM who would need to get the GM to approve something like that is a puzzy in my book. I mean, they still are making close to $2k off me, and it was they who messed up the color int he first place.
But all's well that end's well. Let's see how it cleans up. I will of course give my driving impressions later.
Later, dudes, I can almost taste it.
P.S. There was a black pre-MY04 that had a toasted engine. The owner had sold it to a kid, and pulled off the SC, but forget to reattach (or secure) the oil line from the pan. It could happen, but man, I would have checked it 3 times before firing it up. Apparently, he went for a final drive, and seized it. Marone!
