Default ebay clear bra kit

Has anyone tried this product? The price seems too good to be true. $24 (+$15 to ship) compared to $444.95 for the Stongard kit.

I had e-mailed this seller several times, trying to determine what he is making his kits out of. Never received any answers.

From some of the key words in his auction description, I'm guessing it is a standard high performance vinyl. Not something you want on your car for protection. These films are in the 2 to 3 mil thickness range and made from vinyl (PVC).

The stuff you need is something like 3M Scotchcal, an 8 mil clear urethane film. Seem like I have seen a few other manufactures of similar films out there as well.

There are other sellers on e-bay that with those kits, should be around $175.00 for the do it your self Kit.

Find out if it's "pre-cut" for an S2000. It's likely just a roll of some cheap generic sticky film. If this is the case, you are probably getting a roll of Saran Wrap with a little adhesive on it.
But, let's say it's for real and he did get a boxcar full of these kits cheap. For 40 bucks, he's hoping you'll be dumb enough to actually try this at home and get so frustrated that you'll just crumple it up and throw it away. It's NOT as easy as it looks to install this product, especially if it's not pre-cut. It's not even easy if it is pre-cut.
BUYER BEWARE!

Friend got a pre-cut off ebay for a dodge, its really thin but it is some type of protection I guess. If you can tint windows you should be able to do it.

If it only lasts 6 years it's not 3M. I had the 3M branded material on my car for over 4 years and when I recently replaced it (wanted a different cut without as many seams) the 3M material was easily removed and could have lasted much longer than 6 years.

If the material was 3M and the cut was proven to fit the S2000 properly only then would it be a good deal. Otherwise it's a waste of money. You can order kits onliine from companies like Invinci-shield starting around $149, at least that's the real thing.

I helped a professional installer do my car, took him about 4 hours and he'd done many S2000's before (he was an S2000 owner also).

I needs to be more than just 3M branded. 3M also makes thinner 2 - 3 mil "sign industry vinyl" materials as well as the "made for car protection" 8 mil urethane film.
