Dude, that's faker than a baker and a candlestick maker.
Er, ah, I don't know what that meant, but yes. That is a counterfeit Mugen filter.

I think its fake, but what confuses me is that there isn't anything saying its a replica.

Usually it would say M-type, or Replica.

But there is none. I'm pretty sure if it was fake eBay would have forced him to identify that it is fake. There must be somekind of law that forces him to stop selling it are a real one.

So, it leads me to think somewhere in japan, Mugen has a Universal Filter that is not sold here.

But seem everyone except for jchung. thinks its fake. But it might not be, this would make it a really good deal.

Dude, it's really really really fake. No kidding. Take a look at a JDM Mugen catalog. You will not find that piece of crap in it.

There is a lot of clowns selling knock-offs on Ebay and not saying they're fake. My ex-roomate saw a "Mugen" strut tower bar he liked on eBay for his 00' Civic Si. He didn't have an eBay account so he used mine (with my permission), bid on it and won. We found out afterwards that it was fake and tried to fight it with the seller and eBay. After much dispute, the seller and I settled with me just paying his eBay fees and calling it even. But the jackass mailed us the strut tower bar anyways! So we got a strut tower bar for around 5 bucks including shipping. What a dumbass.

I am learning the hard way about crummy items being sold on ebay.

I received a Mugen strut bar for my 2006 S2000. Just tried installing, it doesn't look like the bar will clear the air intake. Of course there's no mention about these issues on any of the ebay postings.

Now I am looking at having an argument with the seller to take the crummy part back.

Live and learn, I suppose...
