Default Ebay Purchase Protection Program

I bid on an s2000 on ebay and the seller stopped the auction. I realized the seller had no feedback (0). Later I got an email that the seller wants to ship me the car and I can purchase through the ebay purchase protection program. They explained that ebay holds the money while I receive the car. If something goes wrong, I can send the car back and I get my money back.

The price is really good for a car of that year. So I'm inclined to do it, but I'm afraid of scams. Does this seem ok to you guys?

def. a scam. I got a lot of this while looking for mine. I'm not exactly sure how it works, something though with doing it while it wasn't actually posted on ebay gives them the right to just take your money? Anyone know?

I guess I should have known. When I put in the original bid, I got this message from ebay:

Unfortunately, the item is no longer available for purchase. This is disappointing for everyone, but sometimes it's necessary to protect you as a buyer.

There are three main reasons why we remove listings:

-- The listing doesn't follow eBay guidelines.
-- The item isn't allowed on eBay or can only be listed under certain conditions.
-- The listing contains pictures or words in it that may have created copyright or trademark issues.

Wait, so I'm not going to get my low mileage Porsche for $5000? The guy is out of the country so I sent him the money. At least I'm going to more than make up for it once I get the money the Nigerian official promised me.
