AEM is tunable. J's, Spoon, Mugen, and Amuse are all pretuned for each individual company's mods, but will work with different mods too, just not as well.

if I have

cai intake
looking at toda cams/v.spring
j's header(manifold)
hks slient power cat-back.

would the aem give me more power than
the jap couter parts.

also most jap ECU cost around 700-1000gbp.(maped)

the aem will cost about 800-1000 + the setting up.

What kind of intake do you want? AEM is good. Toda cams for the S2k are not worth the time and money and are complete crap. HKS cat back J's header The AEM ECU is fat bank, but will yield you the most gains.

Oh really? Some of the guys who bought the AEM EMS and got it tuned picked up anywhere from 10-20whp on a fully N/A vehicle. One of my customers who bought the AEM through me got over 20whp on his car. I'd like to see a JDM exhaust that costs the same price get that sort of gain.

I wouldnt say its a waste of time, getting power from a turbo or
supercharger is easyer than trying to get power from a n/a engine.

also if you want to be negtive please go else where and do it,
as my question says which ECU, not is it worth the money.

thanks for the PM I will be in touch.

Exactly right. I have never seen figures because I doubt anyone has done this but I would be willing to bet you could pick up in the neighborhood of 15 HP on a bone stock car with an AEM EMS and a good tune. Money well spent if you ask me...
