Default Eibach Pro Kit Uninstalled Review

When I bought my MY01 about 8000 miles ago it came with the Eibach's installed. I loved the look and the drive felt good and responsive. Well if anyone remembers I started getting a squeaking noise in the right rear. The Honda Tech swears it is the shock because of the aftermarket springs.

Originally I wanted to leave the Eibachs and replace the shocks. Well my buddy helping me do the install told me the Eibach was what was making the noise not the shock.

We ended up replacing all four shocks/springs with OEM.

The initial look of the car really surprised me at how much more space there is after looking at lowered since I first purchase it. I am used to it now there is just some initial shock.

The ride however is quite amazing. It is so much softer than before. Not as much bouncing and gives an enjoyable drive. I don't track the car but enjoy a spirited drive everyonce in a while. The OEM springs/shocks seemed to handle corners just fine.

Short Version: I miss the look Eibachs give. I love the comfort of the OEM's. Some additional clearance is nice too.

I will try and get some before and after pics up in a few days.

What year OEM springs/shocks did you go with?

Blown stock shocks (common when lowering springs are used with stock shocks) would account for a bouncy ride and some squeaks.

There is no way that Spoon shocks and springs are cheaper than OEM, but yeah they are nicer and they aren't *that* much more expensive, if you're shopping for OEM anyway.

Lol, well I haven't gotten the pics yet but I will soon. I still have to email Eibach but I think these springs might have been more aggressive than the Pro Kit. I think the drop it did have was more around 1.5" or so. I have a part number from the springs that I will email Eibach about. After speaking with REDMX5 he was helping me trouble shoot and locate the problem.

Right now I am trying to find out if the spring itself was bad or if it was the shock. If the springs are good they will be up for sale. If the spring was bad I will see if Eibach will honor the lifetime guarantee for a second hand owner.

I went with the AP1 OEM set up. With the Eibachs installed the ride was horrible you could just feel every part of the road. Now I don't feel all the little knicks and bumps in the road like I did before. I did like the feeling of a more involved drive and the aggressive look but it did give up some ride comfort compared to OEM.

I would go back to being lowered if I could afford the aftermarket shocks or coilovers. I don't have a need for them right now anyway.

Sometimes I feel like just swapping out my koni's and espelirs and going back to stock as well. I know stock is probably going to handle waay better. I just hate how it sits high like a truck stock.
