Lost
Spare Wheel - 11.3kg
Changing to Volks CE28N alloys -4.2kg (plus unsprung weight improvement)
Changing to Nitron Coilovers -14kg (plus unsprung weight improvement)

I don't believe in losing the interior, AC, washer fluid, top, or top motor since all of these would remove the smile on my face as I drive. I also like the look of stock wheels and don't really want to spend $2k on a set of wheels that are lighter. There are two things I've been curious about but don't have any details on them.

First would be carbon fiber doors. Those things have got to be lighter than stock.
Second are lightweight rotors. That's gotta save a ton of weight. Often lightweight rotors can be half or a quarter the weight of stock depending on what they are.

With carbon fiber doors..what happens if another car hits your door? Does the CF explode like glass?

cthree, that photo makes me think of the hot rods with the open wheels/no fenders. A custom front end and you'd have a wild looking S.
