Yes, ITBs drop a ton of weight. You lose bucket-fulls of hardware, etc. But I wouldn't say the weight savings is the best part. I even have a set for sale if you are interested.

Generally you'd only see CF doors on a competition car with a full roll cage which would include side beams and there would also be a racing seat with high sides and, if necessary, material like kevlar between the driver and the door panel. LOL, you might also see them on some show cars, but even they tend to have full cages and racing seats, plus they travel the highways in a trailer.
