Ended the 4th with a BANG!
I had just left my Mom's house for dinner and was headed over to the lady's family dinner. We decided to stop and get some water and bubble gum at one of the gas stations so I pulled in as if I were getting gas, got out, and went inside with her. I bought the goods and as I was walking out of the building I saw this 2005 gun metal Nissan Maxima backing up with a middle aged lady driving it. She had a completely oblivious expression on her face. All I said as I dropped my water was "Oh $***, she is going to hit my car..." quietly. Skye, my girlfriend, gasp as the front passenger side of my beloved crunched. The beautiful AP2 bumper headlight, headlight mount, fender, etc, was crushed and bent.
The Maxima lady threw the car in drive but I had jumped in front of her with my hands out. I still have yet to determine whether or not she was trying to leave the scene or if she was removing that wart of a car from the former Honda excellence. Either way, jumping in front of the car was a dumb move for obvious reasons. I guess the adrenaline overcame the commen sense.
I called the police but due to the fact that the accident took place on private property they refused to come to the scene and file a report. We finally exhanged information and trust me, it took every bit of strength to be polite. As the agent said everything should be taken care of.
Please wish me luck today and hope that my S comes back together without any further issues.
Just thought I'd share a 4th of July story.
