The same thing happened to me a little over a year ago. I was caught in a flash flood with stock intake. It didn't seem that deep or long of a drive through the water. Many other cars ripped right through no problem. My car made no noise but just stalled. I hydrolocked it, snapped #4 connecting rod, blew 2 big holes in the block and it never made a sound? This was my stupidity and definitly not a manufacturer defect. Luckily my insurance covered it. Be very honest with your insurance company and hope for the best.

hygiene boy: I'm really surprised this happened with a stock intake. Do you have any idea as to how the water got up so high (above the radiator)?

I've got a similar problem, so I'd like some advice too, only my problem isn't exactly the same.

To make my car lighter and faster I removed the brakes, the seatbelts, the windshield and the roll bars.

I dare say that it is not impossible. I once had a kid in a Jeep try to follow me through deep water. I was driving a VW

oh man, sucks, but CAI plus standing water is a no-no.
Go to the dealer. Leave the car as is. And play IGNORANT.

You might believe that the CAI ingested water into your engine. Let them determine that and tell you. Then take it in, act surprised, whatever to get them to explain the situation to you.

Sure, that sucks, but sucks worse to admit you KNEW that driving in a flood with a CAI was a bad idea, but you decided to "go for it" anyway.

Ignorance is bliss here, IMO. Let them tell you why things fouled-up. Maybe you get Honda to repair it, though I doubt it.

In either case, at least I think playing ignorant is better than playing stupid here.

I really hope you dont go through insurance. I hate how I pay enough insurance every year to buy another car year after year because of people taking advantage of it. My motor blew, I didnt goto honda, insurance, or try to sue the gas company. I saved my money up for months and months...I haven't had my S to drive for 7 months already. I take public transportation sometimes if I need to, I walk, I save. I dont feel like being another leech in other peoples lives sucking away at their money. Have some decency to do the same. Life's a bitch, grow some balls.

Insurance needs a new policy where they only raise the premiums of the person being covered and raise it so high they get a clue not to be a dumbass again and not use it as a way to get off. In NY, you wont believe the SOB's that light their cars up on fire or strip it to the bone just because they can't pay the lease anymore. Then what happens? Next year when i get the rates for insurance, MINE went up another $200 for 6 months!
