Thumbs down Engine Break-In period

i know i know.. i read the owners manual which states no higher rpm of 5.5 for 600 miles.. and dont let the rpm stay stable on hwy driving if you do...
some say they redlined @ 400 miles or 600 miles or some did it at 1200 miles

i dont know who to believe

some say they redlined it right after they picked up the car...

does early break-in help burn less oil for the future?

i dont knowww!

someone help

thanks

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH !!!

......

I stuck to the manual and my car is running fine. I wouldn't risk it if you can hold back.

It's a Honda conspiracy I tell ya! After 40 million posts about this, I think they just want you take it a bit easy on the engine when it's brand new. Call me an idiot, but it seems to make sense.

I bet those guys at the docks redlined your car already during that mile drive down the dock and into the ship in Japan.

You can't go wrong by going with what the Honda engineers wrote in the owners manual.

Broke per manual; have not burned a drop (At least not any amount visible on the dipstick ) in 6000 miles. I haven't heard of anyone with an 04-05 with major oil burning issues, regardless of break in procedures.
