i just installed the Spoon ETD. and yes I got more vibrations through my steering wheel at idle. Very slight though. But throttle feel has been greatly improved.

Its true that you can make change the amount of slack the damper will allow the motor to move ??

So, how come some people post up that this damper reduces the vibration felt? What's up with that?

Yeah I think they should just make stiffer mounts, i would buy those in a minute, I used them everytime we did swaps and love the way the motor would stay put !

I don't know why people say it reduces the vibration. I preloaded the ETD. The ETD can not be compressed by arm strength. I've tried. Its very stiff. The vibrations carry more to the steering wheel. In my case at least.

You can change the damper settings but i found when Installing mine that I had to put it on the lowest settings after prelaading to get the mounting holes to line up.

so your say that you have to have it at the lowest setting to get it to fit ?? So doesn't that defeat the purpose of the product ?

lowest or highest I had to screw the adjusting screw all the way towards the strut mount direction.

I believe someone does. I've seen them on some company's website. I just can't remember who. I would suspect that what has been found by the OP here would be the same for solid engine mounts. Whenever you reduce the natural movement of this engine, more vibration will be transferred to other parts of the car. For example, bolting a heavy object like a supercharger will produce more vibration through the shifter. I consider this to be a bad thing. The engine is supposed to move a bit in order to keep vibration to an acceptable level. Sending vibration to other components of the car may only serve to fatique those sooner.
Whatever perceived benefits to such mods is not worth the added vibration that it lets through.

This is exactly what I was thinking after reading a couple postings.
