Default Engine just stopped after reving?

So I'm sitting in the parking lot... reving my engine with my friend,... anyways I rev it to 4000 RPM then let it drop to idle, when it hit idel the engine stopped SMOOTHLY .... it wasnt like a violent stall but the engine stopped smoothly even more smooth than turning the ignition off.

has anyone experienced this? any idea why it happens?

PS: I tried to replicate the symptom but couldnt

ECU that's saying... What's going on, didn't recognise the pattern, trying to adjust the idle and didn't succeed. ECU was trying to learn I think. They will tell you not to rev the car when the ECU is searching for a nice ilde but lett it search. Only then it will now. I also think it is not that good for the ECU to be revving the car when idle...

You sure it was only 4000 RPM? Was the car fully warmed up? If the answers are yes and yes it is possible you have a problem somewhere.

You might want to try posting this in the "Under Hood" forum.

had this same problem, except i wouldnt rev it....it would idle hard, go down to 600 rpms somtimes and would even die if i gave it a 2k rev...even when warmed up.

The problem? Dirty air filter, your s2k lives off of air, more so than you probably......the car is very sensative to its intake...any clogged filter, debris or such can cause this ,ESPECIALLY in heat. I bought a drop in KN filter and the problem was fixed instantly.

I had the same problem for an entire day. I wouldn't rev it very high (MAYBE 3k) and when it dropped to about 500 it would just die out. I already had a K&N in it and it wasn't dirty. It did it about 6 times that day but has yet to do it ever again.

You must have just pissed her off or something. If it continues, I'd worry about it, but like I said, mine has yet to do it again....

good luck

you're making me wonder if we'll have a problem with AI. I can't imagine the ECU wouldn't recognize a little revving. If that was the case then I think we would hear about this a whole LOT more often. I mean, how would you call someone out for a little
