I have the HKS Hi Power exhaust on my 04. It's great but very boomy at low RPM's especially in the summer when it's hot. I had to order silencers. With a K&N FIPK and HKS exhaust the car seems to have more mid range power. I'm thinking about getting the spoon overbored throtle-body to match the increased intake. Anyone have any experience with this? i hear it adds 7-8 HP.

i wouldn't mess with the headers. The OEM are perfect for the engine. You won't be able to improve any unless you get F.I.

I have the AEM EMS and yes you will have to have it tuned if you want to see the right gains.
Not hard to install just hard to work in the tight area of the drivers side kick plate area.

Expect minmal gains for a large cash outlay. Honda didn't leave much on the table for extra power with a S2k. The EMS needs to be tuned by someone with experience with both the AEM EMS and a S2k. Depending on where you are that may be hard to come by.

You want more power for the same kind of $, buy a supercharger kit. The FAQ's are at the top of each forum. There is lots of info that can help you out there.

Moving to S2000 talk it's a general "how to mod my car" question.

try looking at the forced induction forum, since a lot of owners who have forced induction have used the EMS!

otherwise, be happy and take her to the beach!

yea, if power is what you want, just get the comptech blower. 300 to the wheels with some tuning is not too loftly a goal.

engine-wise it has proven reliable. You will need a new clutch, though. If you drag race or launch hard the comptech upgraded differential is highly advised, too.

The DC header loses horsepower. The intake gains might gain back the lost power from the DC header.

The EMS is a little overkill on an NA s2000 with just bolt ons. If you're running a high hp NA application, it's a different story. Here's what you need to do:

Cancel the order for the header. Go to hardtopguy.com and order a set of 4.77 gears installed into a differential. Your acceleration will be improved by 16% over stock, and will feel like you've added over 30 horsepower to the wheels at every RPM. I just ordered my set, and they should be in this week. With the Reinforced dif I only spent around 1350, and without the reinforced dif it'll only be like 1000 dollars. This is the best mod you can buy for the money hands down.

The Hi-power exhaust isn't going to make high power either. Go with a single outlet 70 mm exhaust. The cheapest is the T1R and you can get one for around 750 or 800 used in the for sale forum. This is the best combination of performance and sound for the money. Do it and be happy and RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH before you spend money. If you can't cancel that DC header... that's already 1/3th of the cost of the gears you just wasted.
