This has been discussed a billion times! A quick search will turn up a ton of results.

I use Mobil 1 10w30 @ 5,000 to 7,500 mile oil change intervals.

People may change their mind over time.
Other oils may be available now.

Shell Helix Ultra 0W-40 and allready loving it.
Expected OCI 10000 miles, currently at 275 miles.

Yeah.. I just HAD to post here.

Changed at 3k mile intervals, checked weekly, and added whenever more than 3/4 a quart low.
You can't be too careful with your car's oil

Mobil 1 10W30 for 1 year or 7k miles whichever is first. Then save that oil to use in '94 LS400 for another 7k miles or 6 months.

There is no use for 5w30 in your area of the country as you have no winter to speak of. Even sub freezing temperatures are fine on 10W30. All the 5W will do is make your oil thinner on startup and this is not a good thing necessarily. Is it really bad -- no not really since it is a recommended weight but there is no advantage to it for you.
