Default engine port & polish

Currently have CAI & Cat Back but looking for further performance increase without FI. I have been told that a port & polish of heads can add @ 20 - 25 clean HP. Anyone that has had this done with pros & cons would be greatly appreciated. I considered FI but have heard to many negatives in addition to reduced resale value.

Somebody (I think it was Alaniz on UL's behalf?) did some tests on how well the stock intake manifold flows air - if I recall correctly, the results said the manifold could support about 300hp before becoming a restriction.

I have no personal experience one way or another, however.

A VAFC is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to gain about 10 hp on the top end, since you have a '00 model that tends to run rich.

since posting this topic I have looked into port polishing. I have now been told that the k20 engine is already in such a high state of tune that a port polish would not do anything for it. I suspected that that would be the case from the beginning but still wanted to look into it. So scratch that idea haha.

lol K20 is the RSX/Integra engine.

You have the F20C. I have no idea on port/polishing, however, I would be surprised if it DIDNT do any good. People often like to say this car is tuned so greatly that xxxx mod won't do any good, when actually, this car has among the best potential for high HP than any other honda engine.

The F20C at 240 hp, has a decent amount of power coming out of a normally aspirated 2.0 liter engine. What people mean is, some of the other sport compact cars with less power than the S2000, respond a little bit better to mods than the S2000.

I had a professor at the University that I attend who's major field is, well, FLOW.

He holds over 15 US patents and some abroad. When I asked him if he knew anything about the head of an automobile engine he didn't understand what I was talking about. He's from Poland they eat pickled crawfish.

If you do decide to go forward with this mod, I know a guy in florida who specializes in porting and polishing heads, honing and boring out blocks and has put out some very high quality work...I will have him put a stage 3 port and polish on my f20c head whenever I get my turbo funds rollin.

If you want his contact information just PM me and I will give it to you.
