I have this engine rattle. It used to happen when I turned the ignition off. Now it happens whenever the engine returns to idle. It's very annoying. Pasadena Honda first said it was the clutch, which they repleced, then the heat shield, which they replaced. Now they say it has something to do with the transmission, it can't be fixed, and all Ss have it. Thoughts?

 

Not to be a smart ass but my thoughts are:
1) Pasadena Honda sucks.
2) Neither my 2001 or my 2002 had this "rattle". Both of my S2K's shook a bit at shutdown but no rattle.
3) Try Weseloh. Ask for Tony.

 

QUICK!!! my engine used to rattle too...still does a bit.
SAD STORY:
Heard rattle...took S to dealer...told me they'd check it out...phone call from dealer...said engine blew due to lack of engine oil...car "supposedly undriveable"...BRAND NEW ENGINE NEEDED....AHM DENIES WARRANTY...VIN INDICATED... phone battle: dealer vs. me...phone battle ROUND 2: AHM vs. me... pissed off customer FOR LIFE...$4,000 poorer...
