Default Engine smell---Anyone??

After some hard driving have any of you lifted up your hood and smelled a wierd burning smell? I've recently noticed this after installing my AEM CAI. During the installation I remembered a bunch of antifreeze gushing out and spilling onto the alternator?? I wiped all of it off and I see no traces of antifreeze now. Its been a few months now since the installation so WHERE IS THIS SMELL COMING FROM???? and WHAT IS IT??

Could be the clutch if you're rapidly upshift/downshifting during aggresive driving.

I think it may be the clutch too. I get that sometimes too after some hard canyon runs.

it's the antifreeze man!

I did the same thing on my accord a few years ago...

if u dont clean spilled antifreeze on your engine with water, it sticks and whenever
your engine heats up again after that - it STINKS.........

Smells like BURNT MONKEY CRAP...........lol

I would try to find the dirty parts and wash them (especially over the headers and engine)

if that's not it.........Then You Been Burning Clutch Buddy!

Now that smells like Burnt 2yr old road kill.........lol

see the difference

the "sensei"

Rule of thumb: burning antifreeze smells like maple syrup. Burning clutch smells like... it's just plain nasty. Acrid, acidic,... just nasty.

The first time I burned the clutch in my S2K my wife said it smelled like my "girl" didn't clean herself properly, if you know what I mean

My wife can be so nasty sometimes!
