Default Engine Swap

Just looking to gauge some thoughts/opinions.

Are there any LS1 Swapped S2k's?

Also, what are some popular engine/tranny swap's?

Thanks.

Even if you could shoehorn the engine into the engine bay, I can't imagine how you would fit the LS1 transaxle assembly under the rear of the car.

The F20C and F22C with transmission is a popular transplant INTO other vehicles, like Miatas, Super 7 clones, and other small F/R platforms, but I am not aware of any V8 swaps into the S2000 chassis.

AFAIK the LSX series of engines all can bolt up to a standard Tremec T56 transmission which would preserve the stock engine/tranny layout.

yea.. there are no 'popular' swaps into the S2K.. it has one of the best motors and trannys ever produced for a production car. people swap the F20C/F22C INTO other cars, not the other way around

Someone just posted the other day with a Supra engine (2JZ). Pretty insane, but cool.

There have also been other threads talking about LS1 swaps, but never confirmed with any pictures or anything.

I think it'd be kinda cool. If I were going to swap for any other engine (in the realm of affordability), the LS1 would probably be it. Not that I'm considering it or anything...

I'm surprised it hasn't been done. After some research I found that a s2k roller won't run me much more than an RX7 roller.

I think it can be done.

Any other opinions appreciated!

Well it hasn't been done more because a lot of people buy the S2K specifically because of the engine it comes with

I agree, it is a well balanced car no doubht. But when your looking for more power, and leaning towards F/I, your much better off going with an LS1 swap. Probably cost around the same if you save on the shell.

Hmm...

An LS1 swap would really take away what this car is. It is a well balanced car. A big V8 up front would mess up the weight distribution as well as just drive the weight up in general. If you want LS1 power go out a buy a Z28 camaro or WS6 TransAm. They will probably cost you less than an S2000 and be far cheaper and easier to mod.
