Can anyone help me diagnose this noise? I am looking to purchase this 04 s2k and the ticking sound seems somewhat loud. I think it only rattles when you first start it and when you start driving it, it tends to just disappear.... I done some extensive research through the forum, youtube, google, etc and can't distinguish this loud noise from the "passenger side video" in the link provided. The things I think it may be is

-TCT
-valve adjustment
-catalytic rattle
-loose crankshaft bolt

your belt is loose as **** and squealing or a pulley bearing is shot, thats for sure. don't hear any rattles

 

even from the 2nd video from the passenger side sounds like the pulley? Wasn't it quite loud?

 

Take your serpentine belt off and see if all of the noise goes away
