I have a MY00 and havent had any problems thus far (knock on wood) But i agree, its all "hear-say". There are several MY00 owners who havent had any problems. This doesnt mean that just because the 00 os the oldest out there that they are more prone to problems. I think the percentage, when you think of all the S-owners out there, with some "problems" is pretty in comparison. In general i think we have a reliable and very fun to drive car
I too have heard about this MAP sensor problem. I guess thats pretty common, not sure i have heard about that on here.

Well, other then what has already been said, I hope you let us know what it was. Maybe it can give some help to future problems on other members cars. Good luck and hopefully it's something simple and easy.

Just got home from Jacksonville and this is the latest:

The dealership didn't get a chance to look at it until today (understaffed during the holiday week). The service department guy called me and told me that the tech looked at it for an hour and can't figure out what is wrong. Now it won't even start and they keep blowing fuses. He told me that they were going to keep looking at it but now it would be $95/hour labor. He thinks maybe it could be some kind of electrical problem. I haven't heard back since then. Hopefully they will call tomorrow and give me some news.

He said that he wasn't going to charge me for the first hour of diagnosis. He did say that it might only take a half-hour (of charging me $$) or could possibly take 3-4 hours to figure out what is wrong. I can't remember whether or not he told me that they had tried pulling codes. I would tend to think so since the tech apparently really knows S2K's. He told me that they had never seen anything like this before. The last thing that I can remember is that he asked me about the stereo (I have a small amp for the front speakers, a powered sub, and this all goes through a stock head unit). I had that installed at Circuit City so maybe if my problem is related to their stereo install, I can get them to pay for this.
