Default Escort Solo S2

I'm on the bubble between the Valentine 1 and the Escort 8500.

However, this new Escort Solo S2 looks like a great alternative?

Anyone with opinions?

Please only opinions on the Solo S2, I think I have wasted enough of my time flipping quarters on whether to purchase the Val 1 or 8500.

If you are going to pay that much, go for a real radar detector. EVERY magazine has said, "when the batteries start to go down, performance does too."

Why waste the money on batteries.

What do batteries have to do with these detectors? Are you talking about the car battery?

Anyways, I wouldn't go cordless. If you must, you might as well not get one, esp for that price. Notice how they compare the solo 2 with only other cordless detectors. That's cuz they're crap to begin with. Although I must admit, I like that blue display. Go with the Valentine 1 or Passport 8500 (what I have).

Yea, right. I own a Honda. I don't think I'd be writing about a Ford "Escort"

Thanks for the opinions, just finished ordering my V1.

I used a cordless detector quite a bit some years ago. Very handy when you switch between rental / pool cars alot but they are not as effective, even with fresh batteries. I did not cry when I realized it was left in a rental in El Paso.
