Default european radio frequency

Hello,

I'm from Russia and about a half year ago I became owner of s2k, and I was very much amused with that car. Previosly I had civic type r ep3 and s2k opened new horisonts for me.
I bought it from USA and here in Russia we have odd and even radio frequency (102,1;102,2;102,3.....)as in USA you have only even radio frequency (102.0;102.2...)
Does anybody know how to adjust the radio from US to European radio frequency????

thank you

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is any adjustment you can do, you may have to swap the radio with a European model.

I would recommend checking in the International forums on this site, as they may be able to help you better.

In the USA, the stations on the FM (Frequency Modulation) band are separated by 200 KHz, and the frequencies are odd, e.g., : 102.1 MHz, 102.3 MHz, 102.5 MHz, etc. I would believe that the FM receivers in US and Canadian automobiles are not compatible with European/Russian standards.

Slight nitpick - US stations are odd only. 94.5, 100.3, 102.9, etc.

Anyway, like shamoo said, I don't believe its possible to change the frequencies that the radio tunes to. Sorry.

It's theoretically possible, but definitely not worth the trouble. Just buy a new one.

Hey, it's not Soviet any more. Remember that the USSR broke up more than a decade ago. I find this thread interesting, because, despite my electrical engineering/techie background, I must admit that I know nothing about European FM broadcast systems, and how they compare to ours. In the USA, the FM band is 88 - 108 MHz, and we devote 200KHz to each station, centered on the odd frequencies. I'm pretty sure it is the same in Canada, but do not know about Central and South America, let alone Europe, Asia and Africa. Honda sells all over the world, so they must be able to deal with it. Any international radio weenies out there???

Welcome to the board, I agree that it's probably cheaper and easier to buy a used European CD or better yet an aftermarket Deck that can play MP3s too!
