Default Ever have your shift knob twisted?

sounds erotic i know, but its not

so on the way to work this morning, i noticed that the numbers on the shifter were twisted 90 degrees to the left, pointing towards me. I tried unscrewing it, and putting it on at different points, always ended up facing the left. I have no idea how I can get it centered again. Any ideas? TIA

turn it into the correct angle, than twist the bottom "black" knob/ nut tightly.

turn what though? looks like i'll need some pliers to grip it, but Im not sure wheres a safe place to twist it. Problem is, I cant twist it left from the knob, because it just unscrews it

mine are still the same since day one...perhaps it wasn't tight when you got it from the dealer

Use a wrench and slacken the nut on the base of the knob about one turn (clockwise I believe). Screw the knob as far down as it will go, then back it off until the pattern is lined up O.K. Hold it there while you screw the nut up tight.

mine actually came loose after 22 months...or maybe it was from when I installed the leather center console cover a few months back, but I just re positioned it, and cranked the lock nut up against the knob and it is perfect again!
