The s2000 is more involving to drive but performance the Evo way better for a pure number race. The s2000 is better for driving around on a sunny day or just taking a date. Also the s2000 lines are not as aggressive as the evo. I know if you modify the evo is more HP per dollar. But I think grip driving they are similar when they are fully modified. But just different style of driving.

 

If you have an Evo IX, keep it. That's what I was trading my car in for, either a XI or s2k.

The way I see it, the S2000 is like piece of art. Don't buy unless you know deep down you have to own it.

 

yea, and about maintenance, i got all 4 brake pads for my car $100. i know how it is with my friends STi and those brembos.

the s2000 is a much simpler car. its about balance and just rawness in drivability. it doesn't need awd, and electronic diffs with AYC, which unfortuneatly isn't available over here, to drive good. it feels like a classic car, and looks it too.

 

I went from an Evo 8 to a 350Z to the S.
I'd have to say that the Evo was second runner up as far as fun factor. It was definitely faster. The evo will feel more stable close to the limits.
I like the feel of the two seater cock pit and the feel of being one with the car that you get with the S.

My wife says she misses the Evo sometimes and I do as well. She's always wanted a convertable though and I love the looks of the S. I got the hardtop for myself as I'm not a huge convertable fan.

I'm curious to see what the Evo X will be like.

 

Its a totally different car, if you cant afford BOTH, keep the EVO.

I have an M3 and S2000, I like the S2 by far, but if I had to keep ONE I would keep the M3 for a multiple of reasons

 

Both are nice cars, and I would like to own both, and I test drove the 350Z too, another great car, but the S2000 gave me a bigger smile, so I bought one (S2000).

 

keep the evo for instant power and carefree handling. s fun factor = top down roadster.

 

I've done all of that in my S multiple times.

 

if you live in arizona, and are single, the s2000 is far more reliable and well built than the evo... but like they all said you really just need to drive it, see how it fits you.
