Default Exedy Hyper Single Question

Does anyone drive on an Exedy / Cusco Hyper Single? How does it perform as a daily driver?

I have the Cusco version. It is a bit of overkill for a NA setup but it is streetable. It is a matter of opinion if you ask me. My left leg is much stronger now:P

I've driven one for the past 2+ years.
It's drivable daily, just a bit heavy but doable.
It's a good practice before a twin plate

I had one in my 240sx. I swap in a SR and I had a bit of money left over for a nice clutch. I got the Exedy single and it was too much. I then got a ACT 6puck and it was more do able. Still had to put your foot into it, but I liked it that way. Get something a bit less harsh, like a Exedy stage 2, ACT, or a RPS Clutch.

I had the hyper exedy single clutch kit, and it was just too much for a DD. I took it out that day and ordered the clutch kit from hardtopguy. That set up was a lot better than stock but not as harsh as the Exedy's. Best clutch kit set up I've ever experienced and only for less than a G.

Is the main complaint about the exedy the pedal hardness? When you say its harsh, do you mean the engagement is sudden (if not could you explain)?

The engagement was too sudden for me for a DD. I would have to rev 4-5K just to get out of gear. It would really suck when I was in the parking lot backing up and had to launch the car just to go in reverse. If you are F/I, then i'm sure the setup will be fine, but if you are NA.. I personally wouldnt recommend it.

I have they Exedy Hyper in my S2k, although it is not my DD. I have no problems driving it around town. Granted it is a bit harsh and a heavy pedal feel, but after you get used to it, it is no big deal. It certainly doesn't slip like the buttery stocker did.

IMHO I find that the clutch pedal is hard but liveable.
The clutch feel is quite good and allows some slip for engagement during stop start traffic.
