Default exhaust and covercraft cover?

After reading up on some posts I ordered and did get my covercraft cover (evolution) in last night, it fits very nice. The main reason I got it is to give some protection from hail when my car is parked at work. When I was reading the instructions it mentions not to put the cover on when the exhausts are hot. I never realized this could be an issue but I do understand the problem. How are you dealing with this? If I park the car at work I want to be able to put the cover on right away. It is somewhat of a too long hike to go back and forth to wait until the car cools down. Any ideas or suggestions? I am not too worried about getting some marks on the cover I just don't want to see the whole thing on fire or have a one-time use cover. Thanks.

My covercraft is almost 2 years old now. I have the Weathershield material - not evolution so there may be a difference there. I do not have to look out for the exhaust pips. I have tucked the cover up above them - exposing them, and have also pulled the cover down over them. Either way produced NO ISSUES whatsoever.

Check with covercraft and see if your material type is the issue, and consider switching to the Weathershield. It is intended for outdoor use, UV protection, and is nice and compact when rolled up in the trunk.

Good luck,
Hockey

I have a cover, not sure which kind of material it is, but the exhaust tips melted holes right through it.

I have the same cover as Hockey, no issues with putting the cover on right after I park the car.

Thanks for the replies. I'll wait what the company tells me but I might reinforce the cover with aluminum tape in those areas. As long as nothing goes up in flames I'll be happy.

I have a covercraft weathershield cover and it works just fine over the exhaust tips

BUT... I had an evolution cover for my last car and the exhaust melted part of it. What I used to do was just fold up that corner of the car when I had to cover the car when the tips were warm.
